Artist Karl Slagel is a native of central Illinois.
During the course of his professional career Karl has done many high quality illustrations, murals, and paintings. His debut gallery show was at the Grey Dove Gallery (Bloomington Illinois) in May 2014, where he has been a resident artist since. And Karl now shows in galleries across the midwest, including recently the 59th annual Mid-states Art Exhibition at the Evansville Museum in Evansville Indiana. As well as in cities such as St. Louis and Kansas City Missouri.
Proficient in a wide variety of illustrative media, Karl is passionate about both the fine arts and graphic illustration. Although his primary focus is fine-art oil painting. His work is known mostly for its high level of technique, and comprehension of design principles such as color value and texture.
